My passion~
Food has been insert throughout my whole life. When I first contact with food in my memory, I was just a foodie, excited to eat the delicious food from my mother’s kitchen, but I didn’t know that these foods were made by my mother’s magical hands. At that time, I was still an ignorant child and thought that the kitchen was a magical place where can make many delicious and special foods. From that time, I had unlimited curiosity and yearning for the kitchen, but my mother prohibited me from entering the kitchen because she worried that I would be hurt by knife and other kitchen tools.
Yearning for the kitchen, I finally walked into this magical place with my father when I was 5 years old. My father and I prepare the foods together in order to celebrate the Mother's day when my mother go for work. I still remember that I standing on a stool beside my father as an assistant to help him mix the cake ingredients and he expertly rolled out dough for the cake. The sweet aroma wafting through the air ignited a spark in me and the passion for cooking also sprouted in my heart at this moment. After that, I gained the approval of be a helper in the kitchen by my mother. Every meal we prepared together was not just about the food, it also about the love and memories we created in the process.
When I grew older, my culinary journey became experimentation. I learned the basics from my family, absorbing their techniques and recipes like a sponge. At the same time, I also love to taste the foods from different restaurants and I often found myself eager to replicate those dishes. I will be very passionate about finding the recipe and cooking it for the people around me, sharing the joy with them. I also began to experiment with flavors and ingredients, inspired by cooking shows from YouTube and TikTok. I remember the first time I attempted to make towel cake, it was a messy affair, but the satisfaction of creating something new was exhilarating and happy.
Cooking is not just a hobby for me. it also is a bridge which connected with the family and friends. I believe that the power of food can bring people together and build the relationships with each other. Whether it’s a casual weeknight dinner or a festival gathering, I was happy the moments spent around the table with loved ones.
I often host gathering parties to ask my married sister bring her husband and child join together, where I enjoy sharing my culinary creations and hearing the laughter and stories that fill the room. Last public holiday, I went back to my hometown and host the gathering party. I prepared to do the snow mochi which is evolved from Japanese dessert Daifuku and my mother was cook other dishes for the dinner.
